Community & Sustainability

Sustainability

William Wallace Group is committed to attaining compatibility between the growth of our Group and protection of the environment.

To achieve this commitment, we engage a Community and Sustainability Impact Specialist and:

  • Observe all environmental laws.

  • Incorporate environmental considerations into planning processes.

  • Develop opportunities for recycling from the use of energy, water, and other resources.

  • Promote environmental awareness among employees and contractors.

  • Reduce waste and minimise the impact of our Group’s consumption of products and packaging on the environment.

  • Invest in onsite waste processing equipment and cleaning chemical generators.

  • Source renewable energy to meet our production facilities requirements.

  • Implement a carbon reduction plan and commitment to become a carbon neutral business.

  • Adhere to ethical purchasing plans and responsible supply chain management.

Community

We believe our business should be used as a force for good and we seek opportunities to support our community however possible.

Some of our initiatives include:

  • A commitment to serve local customers.

  • Implementation of an ethical sourcing policy preferencing First Nations, underrepresented, diverse, environmentally credentialled, local, and social enterprise suppliers.

  • A Volunteer Leave program where our team are able to access paid leave to participate and contribute to community and environmental projects.

William Wallace Group is also committed to supporting the Ingrained Foundation, a national not-for-profit that supports grassroots environmental and social charities in the areas where we work and live.

The Ingrained Foundations’ mission is to:

  • Develop reliable funding streams.

  • Proactively work in partnership with suitable charities to create progress in our communities.

  • Build an investment corpus so returns can form future funding streams.

  • Create an ethical investment portfolio that supports the Ingrained Foundation’s philanthropic goals.

  • Have the ability to react to provide timely support when our community needs it most.

  • Share stories of the Ingrained Foundations’ philanthropic partners to amplify their impact.

We provide this support to the Ingrained Foundation by:

Donating $1 for every ‘Brewer’s Board’ (a cheese and charcuterie board) sold in the Stone and Wood Brewery Brisbane (William Wallace Group is the venue catering partner).

Actively seeking opportunities to assist partner charities.

Creating awareness of the foundation and their mission with our team, clients, and suppliers.

We’re excited about our catering partnership with Opera Queensland, creating new opportunities and enabling us all to achieve more than we could alone.

The Arts

We have a shared vision with Opera Queensland to deliver meaningful experiences that connect people through the power of opera and a commitment to the highest standard of excellence in our art and our business.

Our collaboration creates opportunities to embrace difference, take risks and inspire the community to explore and imagine new possibilities.
